A video of the unveiling of 'The Drummer' by Tim Shaw. The event took place on 25th June, 2011.

Sir Richard Carew Pole and Rob Nolan (Mayor of Truro) officially opened the ceremony and Roger Taylor, drummer for the rock band Queen, performed the task of the unveiling.

The ceremony began with a contingent of 100 drummers who proceeded through Truro’s streets before gathering around the sculpture to ‘drum in’ the unveiling. All the drummers in the event came from Cornish towns where the drumbeat is still an integral part of festivals that celebrate the arrival of Summer and Winter each year.
