Tallinn 2011, Tallinn Month of Photography and Canon present:
PHOTOFILM COMPETITION
Subject: STILL STORY
Traditional film is considered to be a sequence of pictures that lasts just as long as an eye-blink. In the case of the photofilm however, the illusion of reality is interrupted. How do we perceive a story if one still frame lasts five seconds or even five minutes? What kind of additional value does the story achieve if we step out of the usual scenario - “24 frames per second”?
We are expecting exciting and unconventional stories that are best told through the medium of photofilm.
Deadline for competition: August 15, 2011
Maximum length: 15 minutes
The competition will be judged by a jury of professionals.
The most distinguished films will find their place on the Still Story DVD and are going to be screened during the Photofilm Festival at cinema “Sõprus” on October 14th, 2011 as an official part of the Tallinn Month of Photography.
The Grand Prize is awarded by Canon, 2nd and 3rd prizes by Overall. A number of special prizes will also be issued.
