COKE SNORTIN' LOVE BOYZ - 1989 - LOS ANGELES

The Video boom age is upon us and one rock band has siezed the opportunity on the internet like no other. That band is Los Angeles California's Greenhouse Effect and Clark Higgins. "The truth is,..if you want it,..is our band broke up a long LONG TIME AGO(Laughs) " says Higgins. "I am 43 years old now,...we aren't even from today but its funny ya know,..'cause we sure do sound good today"....Greenhouse Effect's massive success at being seen and downloaded all across the internet universe could be credited to what Hagins calls today's music "stagnation'...."A lot of pop music today sounds pretty boring" says Hagins "Our band has a very unique sound,..sometimes we sound kinda middle-eastern or oriental...other countries seem to love us,...I've gotten naked pictures in my email from japanese Kabuki girls - i guess its fan mail ! (laughs),...they know that I am a big fan of the 'Naruto" cartoons,..my bedroom walls are adorned with them !!" says Haggins.."I grew up in Torrance and Redondo Beach Calif. and i get alotta emails now from old friends from long ago,..although, honestly,..i was never really popular,..i really sirta had no friends(laughs),...our band were sorta a punk rock 'grunge' rock band similar to Nirvana i guess,..we were rebelious three piece..and i thought i had all these great ideas for melodic little punk songs,..in 1990, i just knew we were gonna be the next big thing because we had melodies like the Beatles and David Bowie but we were spunky and poppy just like the Jam and the Smiths...we had hit songs,..we had formulas but then it just went no where ,..right around early 1992, i began to give up ..that was right during the Nirvana explosion,..i had tried so hard for years to get a major label deal - or even an indie one,..and i couldn't get either,..i just gave up in frustration,...i was very very bitter at the entertainment industry for missing us,..and i guess i still am...the same guys who worked at Geffen records and the same attorneys,..they all passed us by,...and long before there was a nirvana,..we were gonna be the next Green Day and they passed us by,..i was very upset and angry back then,..." So what does Hagins think of the outcome of alternative rock and today's music scene..."Well,..today's music sucks,..theres a lot of bands that all sound the same,..and that's unfortunate and i think had they signed more guys like me ...music would be much more creative and melodic right now,..i just think stuff like Briteny Spears sucks,..its mechanical" Hagins is also known as a top bloggeer with his many websites which are filled with his lyrics, poetry and social commentary writing..." i am an angry conservative wack job" (laughs) says Hagins ",..but ya know its funny,..i have 'evolved' and 'grown' into this! ...people can see that i really 'mean' it...they can relate..infact a lot of people feel just as i do and they are afraid to admit it and be so blunt as i am,..i am sorta the opposite of NOFX's Fat Mike....I am an angry unapologetic little bastard - but a hell of a lot of folks simply love me,..i have a webilizer in my many websites ...and most of the traffic is people reading me! they hardly wach my videos or listen to my music at all really nowadays - i guess they've all seen enough of it(laughs)"
"Music though is my thing mainly,..i just think the state of today's music is tragic...theres a lot of bands that are empty and shallow and all their songs just sound the same,..bands like Foo Fighters and the Offspring,..to me..they just can't write songs...ya know ..they are not these suffering little guys that got picked on,..they seem like these big macho jocks that can beat people up,..and that is the ingredient for insincerity and bad songwriting,..its very boring and monotonous....then you have these so called 'modern rock' radio stations like kroq that play the same shit over and over every week,..its like a nonstop commercial for lameness,..they suck !" I CAN'T DIFFERENCIATE ALOT OF THOSE BANDS ; THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME ...LIKE ITS ALL JUST ONE BIG LAME BAND !!"
And how did Hagins accumiliate all that traffic and downloads? "Well, ..back in 2007 ,..there were things like the Zues linking robot that go out and quickly link you music videos to other relavant searches,..you will quickly build up millions of new friends and fans that way - but we had other tricks too !! Its funny, modern rock radio absolutely won't play the Greenhouse Effect because of some silly corporate reason like 'we don't have a record deal label or some shit"...but the truth is ..is that more people around the world know us and listen to us than just about anybody ; that includes the Beatles, Coldplay, Nirvana, and Elton John (Laughs loudly),...more people know me than anything,..its like i'm frickin' bigger than Perez Hilton or Tila Tequila combined !! ..but i really think its not just a gimmich,..we had great songs,..i mean c'mon you gotta dmit it; White Black Thang and 'brandy' really are two of the best songs that you've ever heard in yer life !! we got songs and ideas that other bands simply lack - and DON'T GOT !!
