The very dark total lunar eclipse of 15 June 2011 was a spectacular sight. The red eclipsed moon was against stunning view of the summer Milky Way as captured in this fish-eye time-lapse video from Alborz Mountains in northern Iran. The total eclipse lasted 100 minutes. When the full moon came out from the Earth umbral shadow the Milky Way and dark starry sky were washed away by bright moonlight.
