georgr 2 years agoBasically, glacier ice is formed by snow repeatedly freezing and thawing over a period of years. Since the end of the "Little Ice Age" around 1850, glaciers as a whole are retreating. This process has been speeded up since the mid-1970ies. Only some glaciers, most of them in northern Europe, are still growing. -
