A discussion of the problems of and resources available to friends and family coping with the early onset of a loved one's mental illness. The participants share their personal experiences and frustrations as well as what they found helpful. Liz Rebensdorf is President of the East Bay Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Karina Foote, RN, MSN, is Director of the Family Education and Resource Center of the Mental Health Association of Alameda County. Jaleah Winn is a Wellness Educator at the Wellness Recovery Resiliency Hub and Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services. They are interviewed by Cynthia Kane-Hyman, CNS, of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.
