I was looking back through some old Processing files (which I was using a great deal before venturing into QC and also before finding this site, or getting into rendering to video) and found this screengrab of a video filter program at work tucked in a folder ...

That's quite nice. I'm a sucker for those kind of glitch effects. There are all kinds of variations you can do.

Oh yeah definitely ... what actually brought me "to" QC was purely CI and video effects, stuff like Free Frame... I had been doing video effects in Processing, but had been irritated with the process of "rendering/movie exporting", and getting images "out" of Processing and "into" other things... which I am aware there are supposed to be better libraries now.

This one is cool, because I had a number of shapes that can be imposed (the fact that it is using squares as regions instead of circles for example), and I could tweak the loop/stutter/refresh rates. Frankly, seeing some of Vade's glitch stuff made me think "hmmm, I have a ton of this but it is all in Processing..."... I don't think it is going to be very straightforward to convert any of it to QC though. I would probably have to be "re-invented" from close to scratch :o(

I remember making a really cool "movie paint brush" that was a lot like a QC image accumulator, except that you would "paint" by moving a movie sprite around a canvas, and it would leave trails.... still trying to find that one.

I need an "iTunes" for all of my QC/Processing/Blender/3D objects/openFrameworks, etc..... or at least need to get better about writing comments in the file :o)
