An example of 2fps using a Panasonic HVX-200. A bug hit my camera (or more like my camera hit a bug) in the middle of the clip, and the auto-focus tried to focus on the lil' guy's smooshed remains- thus the blurriness.

Panasonic HVX-200, 720p, 2fps

whoa, they should add this as a ride at universal studios. I'd ride it.
  • Ben Stone 2 years ago
I agree! ...BUT, my townhome association would probably find some hidden bylaw preventing Universal Studios from building a ride that starts in my garage.

That cursed association keeps telling me that I can't have a grill on my deck, and I don't think I have the mental energy to start another battle with them.

Haha What Madness! How do you have it mounted? I've been trying to find ways to do something like this.
  • Ben Stone 2 years ago
I just put a tripod in my backseat, and tied it down firmly to the headrest posts. Madness? Let me tell you- my neighborhood thinks I'm crazy, but since all our townhomes look the same, the people with pitchforks and torches never know exactly where to go!

Haha thats great. Thanks for the reply.

It would have been extra awesome if you slowed down the parts where you stopped, to make it seem like you were really driving that fast. Awesome video nonetheless.

Extra Awesome?? I like your thinking!

I made this in May of '06, and if you ask anyone who knew me back then, I was pretty clueless about the simple basics of awesomeness, much less EXTRA awesomeness!

The next time I do this, I will try your idea. Thanks!

That was an awesome reply. :)

that 2fps is rockin. I love that.

    Thanks man!

I just checked out a couple of your clips, and they were rockin AND rolling! In fact, a video mosh pit has just formed in front of my computer, and someone is just about to stagedive onto my keyboa... sdsOI*&H yasds0934w5 e23/ [-09LIUY

    Sorry about that!

Right on! That's exactly what I did, except... not at all. Dalas actually knows what he's doing, whereas I just press buttons until a red light starts blinking.

Dalas' puts the f'n in 2fps!

(btw, it appears you know a thing or two about operating a camera... and flap-dancing! Nice!)

    Awesome, whats the song?
  • Ben Stone 1 year ago
Whoa! Sorry for the ridiculously late reply! I need to check these comments a little more frequently.

The song is "Take Me to the Disco" by Fantastic Plastic Machine (often referred to as "FPM"). It's off his 2001 release "Beautiful" (FPM is essential one guy- Tomoyuki Tanaka).

    Thanks dude!

HAHA. nice. i love that camera!!!
i got it a few months ago. did you use a suction mount for your dash?
  • Ben Stone 1 year ago
No suction mounts, although they would have been much cooler and easier. I just tied up a tripod to my backseat.
