On Friday, May 8, Red River College’s School of Indigenous Education honoured their Aboriginal graduates at the 9th annual Pow-wow. This year’s event was a huge success with over 800 people coming out to the Notre Dame Campus to celebrate the achievements of nearly 70 Aboriginal graduates.
Highlights from the Pow-wow include a Pipe Ceremony, Métis and Inuit entertainment, and a large feast, which topped off the festivities.
The Pow-wow also included a special partnership signing ceremony between Red River College and the Treaty Relations Commission of Manitoba. The partnership will work towards enhancing Treaty education for students at Red River College.
