This underwater footage is shot in a volcanic fissure in Silfra in Iceland's Thingvellir National Park where the European and American continental plates are pulling apart. The water comes from glacial sources, takes 80 years to reach the surface, and is so pure one can drink it. It is cold water diving (4 degrees Celsius/ 39 degrees Fahrenheit) with extraordinary visibility (100m+). On the left of the screen in the fissure is the American plate, on the right is the European plate.
