Reassemble is a 15 minute film loop that explores the aftermath of an accident or trauma on a body, how the body has to find new connections and avoid damaged parts to reassemble itself.
The result is a re-wired and changed individual. The film plays with questions about identity and our sense of self.
Because of the music rights license I am only allowed to show one minute of the film, I hope you enjoy it.
This piece combines live action with animation and photography and it is one of several projects born out of the collaboration with the dancer and choreographer Darren Ellis.
The collage is constructed from numerous High Definition videos of choreography for close-ups of body parts that are then reassembled into an ever changing new body. The film was structured to 'The Seven Last Words from the Cross' by James MacMillan.
