The Grecian sank on June 7, 1906 after hitting a rock in the Saint Mary's River. The vessel was subsequently re-floated and was being towed to Detroit for repairs when it filled with water and sank just outside Thunder Bay. The steamer rests in 100 feet of water with the engine, boiler and portions of the propeller and deck machinery all in place.
