Buffalo Waterfront Storm Trumps Breakwall
1 year ago
Wednesday, January 9th, 2008: Lake Erie deciding the breakwall isn't going to stop it.
It wasn't icy cold as you'd think, but the wind was cold, and extreme. I caught view of the lake from leaving Buffalo via the Skyway, so pulled into an industrial complex just to the south, but north of the windmills. I wasn't the only photographer there -- there was a guy with his family in a minivan, and a far more expensive camera.
I took a lot of photos and a couple vids -- this one was shot on the tripod I keep in my trunk, but keeping it still was a challenge. In fact, keeping myself from staying on my feet was a challenge, and the wind chill was enough to not stay facing it more than I had to.
