We need a Kickstarter to fund a Space Shuttle replacement! Debt crisis be damned.

To Enterprise, Columbia, Discovery, Challenger, Atlantis, Endeavour and all those who designed, built, crewed, supported, kept and cared for you--well done and we thank you. All giants and someday, your shoulders will bear the next generation of explorers.

The Space Shuttle was not a space truck, it was a classic American double cab. It was ineffective and less safe than other means of space travel. Its liftoff and landing did look cool though.

Smaller winged or lifting body spacecraft like the X-37 and Kliper (as well as older developments like Dyna-Soar and MiG-105) make a lot more sense than the humongous Space Shuttle.

It is a sad commentary that the death of the space shuttle program marks the end of the USA's manned space programs. Today's politicians have no regard for guiding our national imagination to further mankind's knowledge.

Great collection of footage. We just finished a short film looking at Titusville, the city next to Kennedy Space Center that looks at the Space Shuttle program through the eyes of the local residents.

Evidence that this is the greatest nation on the face of the planet despite todays problems and misguided leadership. This is the greatness that be acheived when government takes the restraints off business and the American people. We become free to soar. Great video.
