In December 2004, Burlington, Vermont-based trio, Charles Dead or Alive, performed it's interpretation of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite before a live audience at Club Metronome in downtown Burlington.

In 2005, filmmaker Bill Simmon combined the recording of the performance with video and still photographs for that year's live performance of the piece. This 26-minute sequence was the result.

The collage includes video from Vermont filmmaker Art Bell, still photographs from photographer N. Todd Pritsky, found footage and stills from the Web, and original photography and videography from Bill Simmon.
