The Niteskool Music Video grant given out every spring quarter at Northwestern University is the biggest student-produced film project to take place during the year. Known for its large-scale concepts, brilliant visuals and outstanding overall execution, the project repeatedly attracts many of the best and most talented from Northwestern's Radio/TV/Film program. This year's grant was awarded by producers Byron Austen Ashley and Jackie Willens to senior Andy Van Beek for Kelsey Wild's song "Five Years." For these major players, the constant planning and hard work of the Niteskool grant inevitably morphs into a world unto itself during the stressful months leading up to and during the shoot.
This short documentary is a brief glimpse into that world.
