People who know me might think "what the heck... you've got a 5D, why have you bought a GF1?". I was looking for a cheap and small camera for shooting around the house, more for private life, not for Job (to be honest: I hate it to carry around the 5D at private... I'm always looking like a damn Paparazzi ;-). On my way I found the GF1 and the P-Tool Hack and thought "hey... that sounds interesting, let's try this!". So I've bought a cheap GF1 at Ebay and started trying.
This is my very first Test shooting with the GF1, the hacked Firmware and the "Fast Action 3-Frame GOP Patch" from LPowel (Vitaly and him did such a great job on that!).
Anyway... this is my first shot with this setup, and I'm really speachless about the Quality of the Camera.
I have not done anything in Post, just to show the raw footage how it will come out of this little baby. I've pulled focus manually. The hardest thing was to deal with the Display... it's pretty useless outside, and it was even harder to judge about the right exposure.
The weather was crazy... 5 minutes sun, 5 minutes darkness, and so on...
So here are the PRO's: great picture Quality, nice Handling,
CON's: Display, only 720p
The noise and dirt in the pictures is only from the VIMEO Compression... the original File just looks damn beautiful!!!
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 (with Hack)
Lens: Panasonic Pancake 20mm 1.7 (Thanks, Lars!!)
Just a small Tripod and the small Glidetrack
Shot in AVCHD 25p
No Color Correction, no grading, only cutted together in iMovie.

Hmm…it looks like things are taking a while to load. Try again?
