Yes, it's a tribute to Gus and Phoenix. Such a rare talent.
I always tried to collect all these scenes in my head while watching it, but there are just too many. But as we have video editing software nowadays I thought to myself: Why not extract it manually? Why not sum the movie up with just the landscape? And River's voice.
