Nooka 2011 Lookbook Behind the Scenes

Nooka's 2011 Lookbook: The guiding theme for NOOKA 2011 is Chimera – human+technology hybrids.

The goal of this project was to create an icosahedron cage to frame the models. These models/specimens were to be then examined through the eye of the lens to evoke research conducted in the Nooka lab.

Using a makerbot, we printed custom designed joints to create the icosahedron. Made primarily of pvc tubing, the icosahedron was created by connecting each tube to its joint. Fluorescent lighting was used to create a glowing effect and allowed multiple lighting effects.
