The Dogheart methodology is based on respect for people and dogs. I want others to see this concept that John Spieser promotes as a way to treat animals with respect and also to connect with them in a way that promotes human-canine understanding.
Three of the primary foundational concepts of the Dogheart program are:
Number one, that obedience plus discipline equals freedom for a dog. A dog who has good self-discipline and obeys will get to go on the picnic, get to go to the family reunion.
Two: We recommend that you stay fully engaged with your dog and see it as a practice of balance in control and compassion. That every time you are connected to a dog you should be putting as much attention into that moment, into that connection so that you develop directional harmony with the dog.
Three: Every dog requires exercise, structure and discipline on a daily basis to stay well balanced and operating the way you want them to.
That should be taking place in your home as well where your dog is going for care.
