30. PURE BRONTE

Another massive winter swell hit Sydney's coast over the last week generating monster sized waves putting on an impressive display of power and beauty along the coastline.
People spend hours and hours perched atop the cliffs at Bronte (pronounced Bron-tee) marvelling at the sheer power of waves crashing ashore observing surfers taking on the huge swells. What do people think about as they look out onto the huge swells rolling in and crashing up against the shore? Always wondered.... it appears to be quite therapeutic for so many people.
As it was a southerly swell generated by a huge low pressure system off Australia's southern most point in Tasmania only a couple of Sydney's city beaches are rideable in these conditions.
Bronte, my favourite beach and local, being one of them.

We don´t know each other but I just wanted to say thank you for this wonderful piece! I spent one winter at southcurlcurl and it reminds me of such a great time.

Beautifully paced and shot video... felt like I was floating above a dreamy and reckless sea! Cheers from Portland Oregon where the only waves we have close to these are 20 miles out to sea! Can you say what equipment you use for shooting and editing? thanks. Rick
Doesn't matter how far away from the ocean + waves you are mate it's always beautiful once you get there.
Camera was 1DMark4 and variety of Canon EF L-series lenses including 300mm IS. Edit in FCP graded with Magic Bullet Looks check out their software its fantastic for DSLR captured images, particularly when you shoot with the technicolour cinestyle picture profile - stunning colour reproduction

Magic Bullet Looks has a huge amount of variety when you are grading your images. Soft edges, vignettes, grad-color and loads of others that you can tweak according to your particular shot.
Their awesome just practice and you'll find your own style.
Also research what other editors / graders are doing and work out which filters they used then try and achieve similar looks that you like.
