Smoke in Ultra-Slowmotion
This video has been recorded with a Nikon D7000 at 24 fps and rendered with 1300 fps.
The program I used is called slowmoVideo. I'm writing it as my bachelor thesis which will (or, should) be finished in exactly one month. As soon as this is the case, I will prepare a release. slowmoVideo will be OpenSource, as is the library for optical flow I'm using.
slowmoVideo will run on Linux, and after some testing maybe also on OSX and Windows.
If you are interested, please subscribe, I will post updates here when available.

Prev week
cant wait to see this in kdenlive ;)
nice work man.
cheers :D
Give us some details on how to get your program !!
Thx !
@estúdio|gunga This will be a standalone app at first. But as it exports images, it is no problem to use it together with kdenlive. It is just one processing step before kdenlive.
@sammy sam Yes, unfortunately I cannot shoot 60p, but this will definitely look a lot smoother than 24p. This example video was easy though since there is only little movement and no (dis-)occlusion.
@titanium If I manage I will release a beta next week for Linux 32/64 bit.
i already played a lot with another tool (search yuvmotionfps in google) that can give some nice result. but this is not reliable.
I can help package/build/debug considering i am a linux sys admin with big video interests (blender fan, following also libmv project very closely).
Just tell me ;)
i have a gopro camera that can shot at 60fps. I am really impatient to try it !! :D
@titanium Yes, this would be really cool! I just zipped all binaries now, but to know where in the system they should go and how to do it, I don't have time to learn this as well ;) What are you building packages for?
yuvmotionfps says they are using an MPEG style motion estimator. These are usually limited to small movement only and move whole blocks (8x8, 16x16), so I assume you see these problems as well in yuvmotionfps?
will try it, today if i have time, but probably more tomorrow.
I can package it for ubuntu.
Just added you on g+ (benoit)
