We went into the woods because we wished to film deliberately.
Two days of ziplines, ATVs, tubing, and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and bam, you've got a broadcast-ready commercial. We put a Zeiss ZE kit through it's paces, beat our Atlas10 like it owed us money (at one point Jake turned to me and said "If we do one more slider shot I think I'm going to barf) and came away with some really pretty stuff. Fantastic lighting by Chris Magruder.
It was my first time directing a crowd, we had probably 20-30 extras come out for the concert shot (and the wide angle didn't even make the edit :/ ) It felt good. I told a joke to distract the audience. It bombed. Then, Karla, our lead actress, got up and told the following:
A guy went to a psychiatrist. "Doc," he said, "I keep having these alternating recurring dreams. First I'm a teepee, then I'm a wigwam, then I'm a teepee, and then I'm a wigwam. It's driving me crazy. What's wrong with me?"
The doctor replied, "It's very simple. You're two tents."
Edited on-site, and then handed over for VO and scoring by Todd Googins and Attila Molnar, respectively.
The Zeiss 100mm Makro-Planar might be a perfect lens.
