Concept: Extract structural information from a certain segment of popular culture and compress the information to allow new content to emerge. Specifically, overlay just the motion information from every Hollywood “disaster movie” released in the last ten years.
Execution: Obtained the films (Armageddon, The Core, The Day After Tomorrow, Deep Impact, Flood, Hard Rain, The Perfect Storm) over a file-sharing network. Edited each of them in Final Cut Pro, extracting the difference between each frame of video to approximate a reduction to motion information, and superimposed them to form the final product.
