Some images from my recent trip to Bangladesh. Its is a glimpse into a documentary that I am working on about a surf club in Bangladesh. Many of the children are street kids or come from very poor families. Some don't even know how to swim, but their love for surfing brings them together and into a way of life they never even knew existed. An ocean that was once deemed off limits due to fear and a very conservative Islamic culture, is now becoming source of fun, escape and even a chance for a way to make a living.

Hope to have the full film done early next year. Enjoy.

hey russell, loving the shots! Sick! I live in Dubai and have been travelling around the Middle East, in search of some good surf for the last 6 years! Found a sick spot in Oman called Al Ashkerah. One of the local fisherman, a young dude, picked up a board and is now learning how to surf, probably one of the only Omanis who surf. Anyway its a rad story, you could shoot a documentary here! I'm also into film, doing a lot for my local church! check it wolhome.com

how did you get the color effect at 3:58 of the bangladesh clip?!

WoW, thats so exciting I really can't wait to see the full film!

I myself am bangladeshi but Having grown up in England my whole life and visted only Dhaka and Syhlet for one month when i was 14 I can say that I have never knew that there even was a surf scean in Bangladesh and am so glad your making the film!

I have always meant to go a shoot a short film in the country but it was going to be traditions based so this is a kool new look into youth and beach culture that I havent seen yet! Exciting!

Again I look forward to when you continue your project keep us updated!

One question, was the kid skater really a skater or did one of your team let him ride one of yours?

    Regards

I am in the final process of editing the film right now and getting some music together.

Thanks for your kind words though and will let you know when the film is almost done.

Also, the kids skater did skateboard and was riding a board that was brought there for him by the organization that we were working with.

    take care and talk soon!!!
