With a self imposed nomadic lifestyle, Liam Finn is one hard working musician. Splitting his time between the UK, US, Australia and his native New Zealand, Liam has built a hardcore legion of fans across the globe throughout the many guises of his performing career. Music has always been a big part of his life, considering his ancestry he has never been too far away from the touring lifestyle.
A call to arms for video directors on Twitter gave us our first contact with Liam. A couple of pints in the pub a few days later and the session plan was sorted. In London for just a couple of weeks, we jumped at the opportunity to film Liam on a sunny Saturday afternoon before he jetted off again around the world.
Keeping it electric on his little portable amp, Liam wooed the afternoon crowd milling outside the Tate Modern before entertaining a young couple on a jetty on the Thames outside the OXO Building.
Those of you who have watched each and every session will note that Matt’s tried something new on the colour filters on this session. Added to that, another fine animation created with the talented Phoenix, playing on the psychedelic stylings of the tune.
Liam’s second solo album FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) was released in UK/ Europe on 20th June and Cold Feet, the song he performed for our session, is the first single off what promises to be an epic album of audio delights! We could tell you where he’s playing next but there’s just far too many dates to list! No matter where you are in the world, chances are he’s coming your way soon! Full tour dates can be found at liamfinn.tv. Liam is a real joy to watch on
