One day after his 9th birthday, Chase was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma - a fast-spreading bone cancer in his radius. Typically amputation is required in order to stop the spreading of the cancer. Because of bone donation made possible through MTF, the surgery team was able to remove the cancer and replace the missing bone with donated bone.
