5D mark II clips
This was before the Fix for the Crushed Blacks
I got it Chrismas eve but I was sick all weekend and never made it outside. It is pretty sweet . On the photography side coming from 1.6x cams for 5 years this thing has crazy shallow DOF.

What was your experience with the workflow? I mean is it fast or slow? Also most 5D mark II seem to have a slight shake to the handheld footage and does the camera/lens have any kind of stabilizer?
I have done a few videos and if its really short I just edit frame by frame in the original .mov format, but the 2 longer home videos I converted to the Cineform avi that comes with vegas7. I have a duelcore 2.8ghz with 3 gigs of ram so it's not a fast computer anymore. It takes about 6-8 times the original length of the video to convert. I have 2 lens that are IS but the rest are not. It will shake handheld but Im pretty good at finding anything I can to brace up on.
I too would like a Scarlet. I was thinking it will be at least a year before they come out and are ready to buy for the Soccer dads like me haha. I figure I had some decent glass and I figure I can film some cool stuff between now and then, plus this cam rules as my upgrade from my 40D.
I'm looking forward to the pics that are going to come out of this cam.
Do you notice any stuttered video?
Also have you tried hooking it up straight to an HD TV with the Mini HMDI? Footage looks amazing that way.
I have hooked it up straight to the 50inch plasma , awesome. I usually watch all my videos through my PS3 though.
Just a big window for lighting.
I just sold 40D and my Tamron 17-50 to help pay for my 5D2.
The 28-135 is a F5.6 lens so if you want to do lowlight no flash pic's it might be tough. If you plan on using flash then no problem. I used to have the EF 24-702.8L but it was too big and heavy for me, I usually left it at home then I bought the Tamron .
The camera is awesome and is tempting for the price, but i wouldn't be able to afford lots of new af lenses.
It was the 5D2 and 3-4 different lenses.
The colors were straight out of the cam with default settings. I tried toning them down in other stuff I have shot but I like the vivid stuff.
Great Work.
Tach.
I use Vegas 7 and render to the free cineform avi for 30fps previews and render to mainconcept mp4. This was also before the crushed balcks fix from Quicktime too.
I use vegas 7 too, but i never manage to get the results you get. do you know if there is any way that i can render to VCD format without the loss of sharpness in the footage? (or at least if there is any way to do a high quality VCD format render) i am just new to this.
so you use mainconcept mp4 for Vimeo?
thanks again.

I got my 5D2 yesterday and can't wait to get stuck into playing with it.
Thanks for sharing!

My wife and I are plotting how to justify getting the 5Dmk2.
Latest reason is that IF we have kids...we want to be consistent with great footage and justify all our L series glass we already have!!! Not sure we can buy L glass AFTER the expense of kids!
BTW, the song sounds like a remix of The Magnificent Seven theme song ( from the old movie imdb.com/title/tt0054047/ )
