The New York Botanical Gardens Holiday Train Show has delighted millions of people over the years and has been called one of New York Citys best gifts to itself. Visitors of all ages leave the wintry cold outside and enter into a make-believe New York in the Enid A. Conservatory, which is transformed into a winter wonderland warmed by sparkling lights and seasonal music.

Replicas of more than 140 New York landmark buildings and bridges—all made of plant materials such as leaves, pods, sticks, berries, roots, and vines—are set among holiday-decorated trees, shrubs, and flowers. Wide-gauge electric trains steam and toot their way past streams and waterfalls and through tunnels.

The video takes viewers to rural Kentucky where they are guided through the creative process by Paul Busse and his talented team of artists at Applied Imagination, who are shown collecting plants, roots, and berries and designing and constructing the annual new additions to the show.
