Kiran Desai is an Indian author living in Brooklyn, New York. Her novel, "The Inheritance of Loss" won the 2006 Man Booker Prize. It has been translated into 40 languages. As might be expected from the rich input of her cultural background, Kiran Desai, daughter of author Anita Desai, is a born storyteller.
