A short film segment from a larger video art installation work by Simon Liu, a member of the Disassociative Collective who is currently in post-production on his short film, Ditchwork & his feature film, Living Room.
A retreat from the physical, socio-economic decay witnessed by a tourist towards an even more insidious metaphysical existential space; the self-destroys via its intrusion into the real (in a vicious form) that is so saturated with its negative propulsion that it can only signify negation to the human consciousness. This real destruction is then juxtaposed with the contemporary spectacle and its erosion of objects, in the hopes of raising the dead, only to become a sick parody of itself.
