This unlucky pelican accidentally got hooked by a fisherman. Bird rescue volunteers were unable to remove the hook in the field, so the bird was transported to a local wild bird hospital where the hook was removed. The pelican is on antibiotics and will take about a week to recover and be released back into the wild.
