Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation Visual Studies course Objects of Our Affection explores the tacit materiality of object-orientation and its implications for architectural theory and practice as fertile territories for both architectural critique and inspiration. Through historical and theoretical readings, in-class discussions and visual experiments using the Processing programming environment, students gain critical, practical and visual fluency in the aesthetics of object-orientation.
