There are few people that I would rather sit over coffee with and pick their brains, and part of me really likes this video. A lot. I definitely agree that an escapist spirituality isn't scriptural. But I'm also scratching my head and wondering if this isn't a bit... well, reactionary. One of the points of Revelation—which is wildly misinterpreted, yes—is those who are "forsaking heaven" are actually destroying the earth (Rev 11:18) even though they thought they were fabulous (Rev 18:9-24). I find your discussions of doubt very helpful, but this video seems (on first glance with no other context) like an overreaction against orthodoxy onto the side of orthopraxy—to use seminary-speak for a moment—when we ought to be proclaiming both.

i remember reading your original post of this..before you made the video. i like the concept, i grew up in the bible belt of the south where everything is turn or burn escapism. i have to agree with some of what Brett commented on above about forsaking heaven is forsaking the earth..but i love your parables.
