Head wind is an inspiring phenomenon: Every time I come home from riding the mountains, my mind is full of new impressions. This short film sums up some of the simple yet complex insights that struck me while riding my mountainbike.
Enjoy. And please share your learnings.

A wonderful videoclip. Thanks
alles dran!
- what software you use for the edit?
- how did you get those aerial shots?
-what camera you use for the chest scenes?
reposted on highcap.org :)
Riding beautiful trails with friends, that's what mtbiking is all about.
Thank you for sharing.
And this is an amazing film.
06 you never regret to go!
what camera you use for the open scenes and wich lens?
Thanks!!
What lens do you prefer on your 550 and do you always use tri/monopod or steadycam?
And as i film myself most of the time, i always take a gorillapod with me.
I have learned that Gravity is your own personal battery - the more you put in the more it releases...
:)
It's inspiring , breathtaking, wonderful images, great way of thinking. . .
Can't helpl but ask for more footage about backstage scenes, cameras, microcopter flying just over bikes, "cine" look
-it begins with time lapse . What's the camera? what is the time frame?
-I see some images (e.g in the snow) being more realistic and more "filmy". Is there a DSLR during those scenes capturing 24fps ? Which one? The rest images with what camera?
- What did you use for those superb titles? And that old film effect in 0:33 ? Edius I suspect
- How about moving back during time lapse in 0:43 ?
- What a neat windy effect in title in 0:49
- How did you hover the camera in 0:52? It seems moving along the bikes
- Where is the camera hanging in suspension shots?
- The environmental sound is very clear, did you elevate it ?
Even more questions:
-What bike do you use mostly in mountain ?
- I like very much the helmet, which one is it?
- Where are the shots taken?
- Do you find yourself ready to make another image so it can fit the music ?
- What is the model of the garmin and how do you use it in mtbing?
This is the modern version of mtbing Decalogue. I admire the way you ended up with those conclusions.
- The camera in the TL is a Canon 550D, interval must have been 5 or 2 seconds.
- The "realistic filmy" shots was done with a Gopro at 60fps. :-)
- Titles and the "old film" effect were done in After Effects. Just some plain old keyframing.
- This is just a zoom out done in post.
- The hovering camera is a DIY cable cam. There are some pictures of it on my Facebook page.
- That's a Gopro with the roll bar mount, screwed to the frame.
- I used a cheap Sony stereo mic on some of the shots.
- Most of the times I ride a Canyon Torque ES 9.0 with 160mm of suspension.
- I don't know about the helmet, this is an old Uvex I've been wearing for a couple of years now.
- I don't understand what you mean with "Do you find yourself ready to make another image so it can fit the music ?"
- This is a Garmin Etrex, though I switched to Two Nav Aventura recently. I download tracks from the web or plan them with gps-tracks.com and just follow the line.
Hope that helps. :-)
