I agree: the best history taken with the 5dmkII by now!. This is to prove what kind of unique tool can be this cam for people with inspiration and skills and a lack of budget. The limit is the troposphere!!.Thanks for sharing guys and keep on showing us your work!!.

Thank you all for your comments. Only trouble we had were in postproduction. We needed to convert original QTV to MPGs at 40 mbps so that the files could be edited in adobe premiere cs3/cs4. Problem with Premiere was that it was crashing at least once/hour and it took 15 minutes to bring the project back up, so the edit that could be done in a day took 2,5 days. I must say that I'm thinking of switching to MAC but I live in a county that has two (?) apple stores in the capital city and that's it ! Those two stores are SO SLOW that you need to pay them for your MAC and wait for 45 days for delivery. And we're talking about 21. century? So PC is the only option in here, and I do have a nasty custom I personally put together. I do some SD edits on it (weddings mostly ...) without any problem whatsoever until now. This QTV - MPG story is horrible. I mean ... in whose interest is this incompatibility, who has interest to bring you to the edge of your nerves to compile a simple 4 minute video ? Again, are we livin in 21. century ?

Incredible work by the way I was impressed beyond belief!

Its true that premiere does have some compatibility issues, I use the program myself but only because It's what I started with and after using the same program for 10+ years its hard to switch.

It also sucks that you can't seem to get Mac's any faster than 45 days (though im a pc guy myself) in your country/city, would you not be able to order them online faster than that?

Have you ever considering rendering into a lossless codec like Lagarith? Its what I use to edit all my 1080p footage in premiere and I've never had a problem with crashes or anything like that. Hope everything works out for you and please keep creating! Much Respect.

Incredible job. Not just use of the equipment, but well done short in its own right.

Story was easy to follow and appropriately tight for a 4 min film. Good build up of drama. I enjoyed the composition, colors and music.

Hi, is there any need to deliver these videos at 1080p, who benefits? You need to edit these clips to 720p first, use cyberlink pd7, bring them down to 720p avc, m2ts, then do the edit?

Very fine work. I hope to buy a 5D somtime this year. I also edit with Premiere Pro CS4 and Vegas Pro 8c. I am sorry to hear you had some problems working with Premiere and the 5D. Maybe Adobe will fix that. I hope so as I really like editing with Premiere. Again, excellet piece. I saved it. :o)

Postproduction: first I used CS4 edia encoder to batchprocess QTVs to MPGs at 40mbps keeping it on 1920x1080p @29,97 , I acctually used a sony xdcam ex HQ preset in Adobe premiere as a workspace (you can get preview via firewire on SD referent monitor !!!!) . Trouble starts when you imort a laaarge number of MPGs to Premiere bin, they need to be indexed, interpreted etc ... this takes huge amount of time . (and you allready spent time on recodeing from QTV to MPG). So now you can acctually edit but just until premiere come up with fatal errors mostly during creating small icon pics of the clips on the timeline. You can solve this by setting clip presentation on the timeline only with clip name instead name+pic. Exportind final MPG is another sad story ... it takes eternety for media encoder to gather all data from the project (?) to even start calculating, funny thing is that we didn't have this in any prior version of Adobe PR. Their wisdom is endless pile of shit. I am thinking os going for MAC thoe I am aware that there are troubles with new OS.

Nice to see what can be accomplished with the 5D2. I have one and am about to start shooting a short myself. I personally have the HARDEST time using the 3" LCD for focusing (specifically follow focus). I am going to hook up a field monitor to help alleviate the problem.

Additional pcs of hardware, LCDs, FFs, rail etc... will turn your miniCAM-stillCAM to a ghastly creation that isn't stealth any more. In it's original state, MK2 is so small that it doesn't attract any looks, everyone think you're shooting pictures and most of ppl don't even notice you. Quite oposite is when you turn with a BC camera (12kg) on your back ...everyone wants to know what's happening...
This is why MK2 is cool, noone knows it's a HD camera...

Lijepo izgleda, šteta što si imao problema s montažom toliko. Koliko sam skužio, montirao si direkt HD 1080p format, što je suludo ako nemaš prilično snažan komp.
Kad radim s mini-DV npr., meni je lakše capture u SD, smontirati, i onda pomoću Time Codova zamijenim SD clipove sa HD, odradim postprodukciju i to je to. (offline/online editing)

Ne znam sad kako ide za DSLR, ali vjerojatno si mogao prebaciti prvo u neki lakši format da u miru napraviš što želiš na Premiere timelinu i kasnije samo zamijeniš klipove pomoću TC-a, odradiš malo color/light balance itd. (ovo je teorijska pretpostavka, ne znači da bi i funkcioniralo, mada ne vidim zašto ne bi :P).

Video je lijep i sviđa mi se, šteta što slova na kraju trzaju kad se gleda u HD modu.

Pa da, ljudi savjetuju isti trik, moram priznati da nisam stigao isprobati, kak je dosao aparat tak je odma, sa polupraznim baterijama izleti na teren, par dana do nove godine ...jednostavno nije se stiglo. A radio sam full Hd ...prethodno sam QTVove prekodirao u Mpg na 40 mbs , i sve radi ali se preijera s vremena na vrijeme srusi sama od sebe. A podizanje projekta sa 180GB i 780 clipova traje oko 15 minuta... u tom je problem.
