I created an 18 piece themed series of drawings relating to humanitarian issues- called "I Will Lift Up My Eyes...and See" The video was filmed and edited by Paul Diaz and his associates. I knew that I would be having a feature show at Studio 18 in the Pines in June and July of 2011, and I wanted to create a body of work related to humanitarian issues that I care about, and wanted to increase awareness of. When I realized the scope of this project and the impact it seemed to have on people, I wanted a way to have more people see it than just those who walked into the gallery.
I met Paul Diaz at a Studio 18 Open House. We began talking and I learned that Paul was a videographer, who had been doing videos for artists and musicians in South Florida. He suggested the idea of doing a time-laps of one of my drawings some time.
Several months later, when I realized that this series was really taking on a life of it's own, and based on feed back from numerous people, I wanted a way to have this show seen by a larger audience. I contacted Paul and told him what I was thinking...and what he created is, in my opinion, just magical. I could not even have imagined that Paul would develop this video into something so much more than just photos of my work...
I am very proud of this video and am deeply indebted to Paul Diaz and his crew -they have my ever lasting gratitude!
I hope people will watch this video and get something out of it and hopefully pass it on!
