Vancouver Aquarium - 5d Mark II
I just got my 5d Mark II and took it out to the Vancouver Aquarium for it's first outing. Here are a few initial test clips, shot with the EF 50mm 1.4 lens. I have much to learn about the camera and it's video functionality.
In addition to aquatic life they also have several monkeys along with a very dark bat enclosure. I was surprised to see that the bats actually turned out fairly decent considering the extremely low light levels.

So why if you have an hf100 and a letus did u go with the 5d mk2, was it for still or video?
The D90 definitely seems to have more encoding problems than the Canon. Of course you could always bypass it's encoder and record using the HDMI output.
Great footage! Just bought the Mark II and was wondering how the footage matches with an HF100 and Letus Mini. Have you put them side by side? Any thoughts?
Thanks for all the very helpful info.
If Canon released a firmware update which gave us full manual control over aperture, exposure, and ISO in video mode, and let us shoot in industry-standard frame rates, then I would sell the Letus Mini in a heartbeat.
how long did it take you to learn to focus manually effectively while shooting video?
