I really liked this... nature reclaiming what man has wrought. A tribute to both man and nature. Haunting. Nice!

Agree on the haunting quality, and esp like the shots of glowing moss against fading metal.

"Erst wenn der letzte Baum gerodet,
    der letzte Fluss vergiftet,
    der letzte Fisch gefangen,
    werdet Ihr feststellen

Wow great images. Great music too.

I like the way you went from out of focus to in focus on a lot of your shots. I think it adds depth and interest to each shot.

D'accord! Don't know if Ken Burns' Effects have the fade-into-focus-feature, along with pan and zoom. If not, memo to Steve: Add focus in/focus out to Ken Burns effects in iMovie, FinalCut, etc.

And your panning speed is just perfectly matched to my pace, anyway. Just about how fast I'd move my attention if I were really "drinking in" the scene.

    Yum!

there are shots i took by " playing with the focus" but some of the pictures i changed a bit in the postproduction, by adding filters.

  • Awesome! This piece conveys great emotion. Some kind of tension or something. I can't place it. Nicely done

    Jorg,

I love the title you put.
a car dump close to berne.
    ...
    nature takes them over...
    That is very true.
If not us, it will be the nature. It will be nurture and taking care of. It is all depending on how we look at thing's. Beautiful title, beautifully respected work of your creation.
I loved it. Thank you very much for everything. Dear Jorg.
Have a wonderful day and see you again.

That was really calming to look at, but towards the end the back of my mind was saying 'why is all that metal still lying around, why isn't it being recycled?' Great choice of music.
  • Jörg Brönnimann 10 months ago
and who will recycle the recyclemashines? ;)

Some nice shots in there, mate!

Personally though, I found the repetitive camera movements and focus pulling made it boring. Mixing things up would help hold peoples attention more I think. :) Nice work though!
  • Jörg Brönnimann 10 months ago
its a car dump. i had some zoom shots, but by cutting i realised that they bring a disturbance.
nature takes them over... and this happens very slow and rhythmic. but i agree that there might be better ways to show this car dump.

Very interesting. The slow pans are very effective. How do you pan so smoothly and is there a reason you always pan left to right? I did see a couple of vertical pans. In your videos I have looked at, almost all pans are left to right.
  • Jörg Brönnimann 4 months ago
i did the pans with my tripod and try to do them as good as possible...
it might be that the left to right pans look more natural for the eyes, because we got habit to read from left to right.
i also decided to keep the left right pans because it gives more visual continuity.
