Aniden held a competition called the 3D Bake-Off, where participants were challenged to create a stereoscopic animation. Team Refresh created a soda brand to be featured in our animation. The spot consisted of a soda bottle falling over onto a city sidewalk, releasing motion graphics consisting of colorful shapes, bubbles, and animations upwards into the air. Once released, the bubbles rise high above a city skyline, where they form the name of the soda brand.
A variety of hardware and software were used, including Cinema 4D, Illustrator, After Effects, and a Canon 5D Mark ii DSLR. The bottle was created using Cinema 4D and was later composited and tracked over live footage. It was a good exercise in creativity outside the constraints of client restriction and explored unique workflow opportunities. Team Refresh consisted of Jody Cochran, Khambrel Lewis and Jeremy Shelton.
