I love me some kinetic typography. this was great. The drop shadows and animation really do well to being it out of the 2D world.

  • Like a few others, I joined Vimeo to make this comment. I'd love to know where you got the music from, seeing as it lines up so well with the voices and I didn't think it was in the original movie?

I'm mad as hell you didn't credit the filmmakers of NETWORK without whose amazing work you would have nothing!

Created by Aaron Leming? How about created by Paddy Chayefsky and Sydney Lumet and Peter Finch. Don't give yourself a single "created by" credit when all you did was adapt someone else's work.

Your interpretation has technical and artistic merit, but I just can't get past your end credit.

You would do well to remove and repost this piece giving proper credit and thanks to the people who made the great art on which you put your own little spin.
  • Aleao Sun 2 years ago
I do agree with you sir. As credit shows all respect to people who worked hard on it.
  • Joe Rowley 1 year ago
He did credit them in video (at the end) and in the caption/description.
  • Matthew Merkovich 1 year ago
I just rewatched this and I do not recall the credits as they are now when I originally saw it. It looks as though the artist took my advice and I commend him for it.

I want to point out, as it was just asked of me, "I take it that the caption was not enough for you? '450 words...famous monologue from the 1976 movie 'The Network.' [sic]'"

I was originally sent this as an embedded video that didn't have the caption. Credit should be included in the video to avoid just this sort of problem.

And the film is called NETWORK, not THE NETWORK.

I too am a Graphic Designer and a Flash Developer and I'd fallen in a sort of rut, and it's stuff just like this that makes me get MAD and able to get back into it and start creating new works.

beatiful indeed, somehow the music feel a little out of touch.

many may have listened this monologue in sublime's version of "we're only gonna die"

Silly Americans getting mad as hell at actually having to pay for the fossil fuels they've wasted and having to get up from watching the TV that they own, powered by the electricity they have and are able to pay for, and scream from the window of the place they are lucky to be living in.

I agree that they shouldn't have to take it anymore!
  • Ethan Hendrick 6 months ago
Well I'm mad at the way other countries are treated. I'm mad that third world countries are taken advantage of for oil. I'm mad at meaningless foreign involvement for oil. I'm mad that all the worlds money going into war and military could be used to educate and feed every single person on this planet. I'm mad that people are blind to the simple fact that we are ALL in this together and that everything we do affects everyone around us. I'm mad that we live in a world where life and love is not cherished as the treasures they really are.

wow, that's really powerful! Except, it is possible that opening the window and yelling like he was, could lead to more crazy...but standing up and choosing to not be passive for the value of free will & the rights of life...that's a powerful message/point he is making.
