On 22 June 2011, representatives from Green Renaissance and the Treasure the Karoo Action Group (TKAG) went to find out what people thought about hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking" in the Karoo.
Opinions and thoughts varied, from the strongly opposed to the ignorant, but when speaking to those against fracking, it is clear that there is an overwhelming sentiment that the Karoo is just too valuable a place to be compromised by shale gas exploration.
Treasure the Karoo Action Group (TKAG) is strongly opposed to fracking exploration the Karoo, feels that we need to come up with a solution for renewable energy together, to safeguard our future and for the future of our children.
