Sky & Cowlapse
If you get tired of looking at the clouds, take a look at the manic cows.
Can someone tell me how to get out of this time-warp mode? I am 63 years old for Pete’s sake, I need to slow time down not speed it up!
I threw my trusty Sony outside on the tripod as usual on January 2nd 2009, an hour later I bought in a giant icicle with a camcorder perched on top. Don’t try lengthy time recording outdoors using your best device in winter. My old Sony has fared well under these circumstances albeit with much emphasis on acclimatisation procedures.
I now need to look for speed that I can slow-down, the problem is that I live in rural England and everything but everything moves very slowly here, apart that is from my partner Joan who can get up to some real speed if she’s in a mood, perhaps I can produce some slomo of flying crockery. Oh yes! You’d like that wouldn’t you. Well! It just isn’t going to happen OK.
I didn't realise that I was rendering this in HD, I had intended to post in SD to reserve my weekly HD quota just in case I had something good to post later in the week, drat.
Can someone please get hold of Blake Whitman, (preferably around the neck area) and ask him when us Brits are going to be given the opportunity to go PLUS… Well, I suppose that has in effect ended my contractual arrangement with Vimeo, in which case I bid you a fond farewell, and offer my thanks for being a good audience. On the other hand if I am given a reprieve then… Hi I’m back!
P.S. You may insert a lol where you deem appropriate.
Soundtrack by Jason Shaw ‘audionautix’ on YouTube. Creative Commons license, do look Jason up on uk.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=114BA69DA5B7C1F7 he has some awesome sounds for downloading into your vids.

Usual skylapse cam/editor blah, blah, blah

...it would also be interesting as to what sound track you would use for a cow-pat lapse ;-)
I saw a documentary once in which a dead rat was time lapsed. The resulting video showed how nature reclaimed and recycled the unfortunate rodent.
Your idea of a pat-lapse is a good one, but I would suggest not of interest to the Vimeo audience base, it's more of interest to the educational establishments.
As for a suitable sound track, this is difficult, but I would suggest a sound sample taken from a cow engaged in the act of contributing to the depletion of the ozone layer (with an old mic of course), the sample could then be used to create a rendition of the Rawhide signature tune.
Many thanks for your contribution here but this activity again is speeding up time. I really want ideas that will assist me in getting out of this dizzy high-speed mode.
then you could always wait for your 'plus' account, that will take you a while :)
If you really do want a 'plus' account though, why don't you ask one of your American friends if they can 'gift' you an account and you pay them via paypal - many non-US residents are already doing that ;-)
btw, I think the cow-pat idea would be a good one, just not sure about how you intend to position the microphone - 'All creatures great and small' springs to mind - lol :D
Keen Johns plus
now you're important ;-)
I say: "STS!"
So we are in agreement then 4M2 STS. Stuff The Sheds, I'm pleased that the shed stuffing movement is gathering momentum.
