1. The Form of the Web Browser and its Social Effects
6 months ago
Thesis presentation for M.A. degree in Communication, Culture and Technology at Georgetown University. My research focuses on the development of the web browser in the mid-1990s by Netscape and Microsoft. The thesis is comprised of two case studies: the first glimpses the evolution of web design through the invention and promotion of HTML's table element; the second examines the invention of JavaScript and the changing paradigm of software distribution.

My thesis committee was Drs. David Ribes and J.R. Osborn. Thanks to Heather Kerst for the recording.
