oh man, this reminds me of some of my backpack trips abroad...I was supposed to take a train from Bangkok to Penang in Malaysia, and instead I had to take the bus..It took me 24 h, with like 10 bus changes (and 3/4 of the trip was in a mini-van, and it was daaaamn hot, and of course no air con). It was just horrible at the time, but now it's fun when I look back at it. You did great !! And sounds like you met nice people too ! :))

I think that is the best travel blog I've seen - the music really made it for me - after a cranky day, this left a big smile on my face - especially the stories about the homeless man and the socks and the lovely lady on the bus! yay!

I've been dicked around by flights being canceled/Greyhound generally sucking all too many times. Fortunately, I'm one of the few people in the world who think it makes it kind of exciting when traveling doesn't go well. I mean, how much would this video have sucked if everything went according to plan?!
