I think that's why I chose the thumbnail with my hand in it. The realistic surprise is better. As for the tilt, it wasn't intentional because I couldn't level it. I wanted to prop it on a little table, but I liked it better this way.
You could say that. It was real easy, and I'm certainly not the most innovative person when it comes to this kind of stuff. After filming the miniatures, used Final Cut to edit it. The mexican hat dance footage and this clip are then set to a composite filter called "screen." Of course resized the prelinger footage so that it was small enough to fit in the television, and then cropped the left and right sides of it. I don't even know how to overlay two videos without making the one on top translucent, but it doesn't matter in this case. I'm only learning. I've been using iMovie for years so it's nice to try something different.
Thanks. Considering I'm working on building a set for a claymation, this took about as long as it is to watch. Ha, actually most of the time went into finding a video to put on the TV and editing it.
Thanks SteveR. That's what I thought too. The tv thing came first, then I had to find something to "watch." I guess that clipdub would have never happened without the tv to watch it on. Hmmm... There's an underlying truth behind this.
It's so realistic! If it wasn't for the hand i could never tell it's not a real room. You should have had your hand in the video only at the end of it.
that is so creative!!!!
the music was spot on, perfect for this film
and it really looked like the tv was on, congrats!
makes me wanna try something like that for myself!
Love the title, you fanatic. Even if I am the only one who gets it. Ha :P
This is totally rad, btw.
The song is by a band called The Billy Nayer Show and it's off of their album "The Villain That Love Built."
Thank you.
