Shot on a Canon 5D Mkii.
My wife and I are expecting our first child. Having bought a Canon 5D Mkii just a few months ago, she has obviously become one of my favorite subjects.
I shot this over the last couple of months every time I saw something interesting going on with her pregnancy. I must admit that more than half of the takes on this video were shot against her will (she has a strong character!), but at the end she kind of "cowgirled up" and I got her to act a little for me.
Everything was shot using available light with a Canon 5D Mkii and a few of my lenses which include a Zeiss 85mm, a Canon 50mm and a Sigma Zoom. The macro shots were shot using a macro adapter with the Canon 50mm.
The video was edited on Final Cut Pro (not the X "child toy" variety) and color graded using Magic Bullet Looks.
The music is "Rompiendo Fuente", a composition about a pregnant wife by the great Dominican artist Juan Luis Guerra. This is my own version. I arranged it and performed on the guitar. For this recording, I'm glad that I got the chance to become reacquainted with "Patricia", my Alvarez Yairi Steel String, my oldest guitar.
The video is dedicated to my lovely wife Marieli. She's my best friend, my confident, my second opinion, my anchor and my wings. And, of course, it's also dedicated to Daniela, our daughter.
Don't blink at 1:17, that's Daniela right there, caught for the first time on camera.
Thank you so much for watching!
