Congressman Connie Mack (R-FL 14) appeared today on "FOX and Friends" to discuss the growing momentum behind his Penny Plan, another name for his One Percent Spending Reduction Act of 2011. Congressman Mack announced the plan publicly on "FOX and Friends" earlier this year. Speaking with host Gretchen Carlson, Congressman Mack discussed his plan, which has gained more ground following the recent passage of the debt deal. That deal would continue to raise the national debt with automatic spending increases occurring annually. The Penny Plan, meanwhile, would provide a real solution to growing government spending and the rising national debt, by calling for a freeze of spending at 2011 levels, and then a one percent cut of spending for 6 years. Within 8 years, the budget would be balanced, and within 10 years, the deficit would be reduced by over $7 trillion. Congressman Mack stated that many people in America have had to cut the budgets of their homes and businesses by a lot more than just one percent, and that it was time for Congress to follow suit. The Congressman also urged supporters who do not live within his district to contact their Senators and Congressmen and tell them to get behind The Penny Plan. Source: FOX and Friends.
