This tutorial duplicates the results of the Utility Application template. However, it starts with a Windows-based application and it uses a navigation controller and navigation bar in a more standard way than Apple's Utility Application template.
You should note that Apple no longer creates the Utility Application the same "funky" way....so this tutorial is dated.
