This tutorial duplicates the results of the Utility Application template. However, it starts with a Windows-based application and it uses a navigation controller and navigation bar in a more standard way than Apple's Utility Application template.
You should note that Apple no longer creates the Utility Application the same "funky" way....so this tutorial is dated.

5 months ago This tutorial is outdated. Apple doesn't do the Utility application the same way they did before. Probably because it was so "funky" the way they did it before. The tutorial works, but it's outdated.
