Welcome to Our Place.
Together we will make a difference. When you walk through the doors of Our Place you're instantly aware that you've discovered something special. Our Place is a community. It's a home.
When you visit Our Place, you're entering a home. We care about each other. That's why our staff is dedicated to giving people a hand up and not a hand out. From a hot meal to a friendly and safe environment, at Our Place we know that hope begins with a smile. We also work with people to find the best counseling to help them move forward.
Sometimes the toughest things to find on the street are also the most basic: a hot shower, a fresh pair of socks, some hygiene products and basic first aid. We offer these services. Volunteer student nurses visit regularly and provide much needed care.
The multi-faith chapel is an important part of the community. It's a place for art therapy, weddings, celebrations, yoga and many other community gatherings. The chapel is also a place for memorials, where people can say goodbye to loved ones who have passed on.
Computers are a gateway to successful communication. Staying connected is part of feeling a sense of hope and belonging. At Our Place, we appreciate this need and supply our community with computer work stations. By enabling people to make job searches, build resumes and take computer literacy courses we empower them to reach their goals.
The dinner table is the heart of any home. It's a place where family and friends meet. It's a place where a community is formed. At Our Place, we serve over 1,500 wholesome and nutritious meals a day to those who can't afford one. When things are tough, a hot meal and friendly conversation can make all the difference.
We often take our homes for granted. But not everyone has a clean, safe place to sleep at night. With 45 single unit rooms for men and women, we offer a hand up from the street to those who need it most. Transitional housing is one of the best ways of helping people move on with life. At Our Place, we take it a step further. Our residents have a place in our family.
